Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Law The firm provides a wide range of traditional real estate services, in land use planning and environmental regulation law, divestitures, institutional mortgage lending (both commercial and residential) and real estate development and construction. The firm also engages in private placement debt financing with real estate as collateral and in commercial leasing transactions (landlord or tenant interests). The firm has been actively involved in sale and leasebacks, limited partnerships and other contemporary real estate investment techniques, loan workouts, and debt restructuring. Working with Florida's land use and growth management legislation, the firm provides counsel in the areas of land use, zoning, permitting, growth management and environmental regulation at the local, district state and federal levels. Managing partner Manuel Alonso-Poch was for five years, a member of the City of Miami Zoning Appeals Board, where he served and acted as its Chairman for four of those five years. The firm has extensive experience in all matters pertaining to reading abstracts of title, correcting title defects and interpreting mortgagees' and owners' title insurance policies. The firm’s computers provide immediate and current data on real property situated throughout the state of Florida. The firm has fully integrated computerized legal research capabilities with access to the data banks of the agencies and departments of the state of Florida.
Corporate and Commercial Our corporate and commercial practice encompasses a broad range of business transactions, employment contracts, sales and purchase agreements, business leases, election of business form, licensing, exclusive distributorship and commission agreements, franchises and similar transactions. The firm is equipped to handle the simplest day‑to‑day business agreements as well as complex contractual structures. Public Finance Transactions The firm has for many years represented public and private entities in the area of public finance and bond validation. The firm has represented private brokerage houses and governmental entities as underwriters, issuers and developers in substantial municipal bond offerings, including bond issues by cities, counties, redevelopment agencies, health facility authorities and others.
